IRB MEMBERSHIP
The HCA-HealthONE IRB is guided by the ethical principles for all research involving humans as subjects and abides by:
• The Report of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research,
• Belmont Report: Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research, and
• The Common Rule 45 CFR 46 (OHRP) and 21 CFR 56 (FDA)
These ethical principles and regulations guide the IRB to assure the protection of the rights and welfare of the human subjects involved in clinical research are maintained.
The IRB is comprised of a diverse membership while maintaining the expertise needed to conduct its functions. The Board meets on a monthly basis, the third Wednesday of each month in the Galleria Building.
Robert M. Rifkin, M.D. is the Chairman of the HCA-HealthONE IRB. The IRB Membership consists of the following disciplines:

• Pediatric Oncologist

• Pediatric Representation
• Pharmacists
• Social worker
• Community Members
